Regional Alliance Project Director -
Richard Hellenbrecht - 212-268-0391
The Regional Alliance has provided
services to the New York State Department of
Transportation for over seven years.
NYS DOT conducts an active Disadvantaged
Business Enterprise (DBE) program and
certifies over 300 DBEs in the downstate
area. The Regional Alliance has been
providing business assessments, business
outreach services, loan and bonding
referrals and development plan
implementation services to DOT DBE certified
firms in Zone 3, which includes Nassau and
Suffolk Counties, the five Boroughs, Orange,
Rockland, Putnam and Westchester Counties.
For DOT certified DBEs in the downstate
zone, the Regional Alliance will come in and
conduct a formal assessment of the firm,
including a site or office visit and
interview with the client. The client
will complete a detailed questionnaire and
provide some financial background
information on the firm, marketing
materials, contract bid and win data, etc.
We will analyze the data and materials and
develop a confidential assessment report for
the firm and DOT. Based on the
assessment, the firm will be eligible for up
to 28 hours of implementation services
provided by our expert staff or consultants,
including referral for bonding, loan
packaging and shopping, marketing assistance
and development of materials, computer
assistance, website development advice.
Over 170 firms have already been assessed
under the current contract and most have
received some services along these lines.
We are now reaching out to many of the
already assessed firms to meet any current
needs through contract completion at the end
of July 2006. If you have been
assessed and would like additional
implementation services please call project
director Richard Hellenbrecht at
212-268-0391. Otherwise, if you are
certified by NYS DOT, but not assessed,
please contact project
director Richard Hellenbrecht at
212-268-0391 for an assessment.
