The Regional Alliance conducts several events throughout the year for the purpose of recognizing significant accomplishments by our members or client organizations and to provide networking opportunities for members to meet key executives of prime contractors and other firms to explore business opportunities. Most events must be reserved in advance to assist with planning. RSVP can be through the below link or by calling the Regional Alliance at 212-268-2991. There is no charge for most training programs, workshops and seminars. Payments for networking events, annual Charter Member dues and contributions may be sent to the Regional Alliance for Small Contractors, 625 8th Avenue, Second Floor, North Wing, New York, NY 10018. All checks must be made payable to: The Fund For the City of New York.

NJ Transit Mechanics' Institute "Sustainable Construction" Course June 9, 11, 16 and 18th, 2008 5:30pm to 8:00pm NJ Transit - One Penn Plaza 9th Floor Newark, NJ	"Green Building" has been a buzz word for several years, but sustainable building is a critical issue. This course provides an overview of the process of green building, covering the theory, history and current best practices for environmentally responsive design and building process. $50 registration fee. A certificate of completion will be issued.
NJ Transit Managing Growth "Managing the Small Office" June 19th and June 20th, 2008 8:30am to 3:00pm NJ Transit - One Penn Plaza 9th Floor Newark, NJ	Managing Growth - Spring 2008 Two day program Learn how to plan and organize your small office for growth, manage communications between your office and field staff and how to build and coordinate your management team. Documentation and record keeping will be covered. Legal human resources issues will also be covered concerning hiring and supervising employees. You will take home handy resources including a turn-key human resources policies and procedures guide, employment applications, etc. There will be a $50 registration fee for this course.
Port Authority Managing Growth "OSHA - 10 Hour Program" June 25 and June 27, 2008 9:00am to 3:00pm Port Authority Bus Terminal - Times Square Hall 625 8th Avenue, South Wing, Second Floor near Drago Shoe Repair	As of July 18, 2008 all workers on any public works project larger than $250,000 must be certified as having completed a 10 hour U.S. Department of Labor OSHA-approved 10 hour training class. Participants completing this class will receive the necessary course completion card from the Department of Labor. Course covers hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention. Training is intended for construction workers, foremen, job supervisors and anyone involved in the construction industry. Additional OSHA training may be necessary for certain positions. There is a $50 registration fee for employees of PA certified M/W/S/DBE firms. Registration fee for all others is $75.
Regional Alliance 16th Annual Awards Luncheon September 17, 2008 11:30am to 2:00pm Tavern on the Green Restaurant, Central Park, NY	Each year the Regional Alliance conducts this special luncheon to honor leading construction industry firms and trailblazers in government and industry assisting minority, women-owned and small businesses to grow and prosper. This year's luncheon is at the spectacular Tavern on the Green Restaurant in Central Park. We think this will be the best ever. Great food, beautiful venue, excellent company. Come and enjoy.
