The Regional Alliance for Small Contractors, Inc. (Regional Alliance) is proud of its accomplishments in the field of MBE
and WBE advocacy over the years. The organization has been the recipient of several
prestigious honors and awards in this
field. Members of staff have also been recognized for their distinguished services and lifetime achievements. Below are
just a few of these citations.
Financial Program Achievements
In early 2006, the Regional Alliance was selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration as its service provider to provide
assistance and support for its Community Express loan program, providing guaranteed loans up to $250,000 to small contractors
with no collateral and quick and easy application process.
The Regional Alliance has assisted over 170 contractors in packaging and receiving business loans in excess of $25 million
since 2001. Since 2004, thirty firms received almost $14 million in bonding participating in our bonding assistance programs
and workshops.
NYC Sports and Convention Center
The Regional Alliance was retained as Program Manager by the New York Jets to develop and implement a state-of-the-art M/WBE
and labor force participation program for their proposed $2 billion New York Sports and Convention Center project. When completed
the program was acknowledged as the most comprehensive minority and women-owned business and workforce utilization package
developed for a construction project.
Awards
The Regional Alliance was a finalist ($25,000 award) in the Ford Foundation and John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard
University Innovations in State and Local Government program.
The Regional Alliance received the U.S. Small Business Administration Vision 2000, Model of Excellence Award for its minority/women-owned
business development programs.
